Yes I really am up at 6.54am on a Sunday.... I am trying to convince myself to stay on bed at moment, though part of me wants to get up and peg washing out in the rare sunshine! Sorry to bombard with posts, I really wanted to share the Rimmel and Maybelline polishes, and figured rather than making one long picture heavy post, three would be better!
As I mentioned in my Boots haul post yesterday, I was so surprised to find myself wanting a Maybelline polish. The last time I wanted to buy Maybelline was some 15 years ago when they first launched in the UK and I was desperate to try the Great Lash Mascara. They also had a pearlised slightly duochrome pale baby blue nail polish which I bought after ooohing over it for ages. I also got a petrol type shade. They were awful and I never bought any more.
Chalk Dust is part of the Polka Dots Collection, this is the only one which I wanted, I didn't like the colour bases on the others.
First up I tried it over Barry M Spring Green.
Next I tried it over China Glaze Sunday Funday.
Finally over Rimmel Barmy Blue.
I love this glitter!

Rimmel Barmy Blue swatches.
Rimmel Barmy Blue, purchased by me.
These swatches are two coats, no top coat. This polish has an amazing high shine! I think this could be close to OPI Eurso Euro, but cannot compare the two as I don't have the OPI, nor do I want it now I have this.

More flowers and polka dots...
For some reason I am loving cream finish pastel shades with flowers right now!
This mani uses bases of thumb Sally Hansen Crinolene, index China Glaze Fade into Hue, middle Revlon Lilac Pastelle, ring China Glaze Kinetic Candy and little finger a-england Guinevere. These were polka dotted with OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls then big rough dots of pink W7 matte pink were applied. I then top coated before finishing flowers with Barry M pink nail art pen and adding more top coat.
Bonus left hand pics....
This is the mani I mentioned in my Boots Haul post yesterday, the one which led to my hands being grabbed and examined. Yesterday was day four of wearing, I rarely wear anything that long.

Boots mini haul
I've recently bought a number of polishes online so over the next week or so there will probably be a lot of swatches.
I popped into Boots to pick up Maybelline Chalk Dust - me wanting Maybelline is nothing short of shocking! I didn't want any of the other recent glitter outputs, but Chalk Dust really captured my imagination.
Whilst in there I made the mistake of looking at the new Butter London stand as I ended up walking away with Posh Bird. I also grabbed a Rimmel Salon Pro in Barmy Blue which reminds me a lot of OPI Eurso Euro, although I don't have them to compare.
When I was at the till the woman grabbed my hands to examine my nails (another floral tea rose one, blog post on this will follow shortly) and kept saying how much she loved them, that she'd have to check out the Barry M Nail Art pens, and asked if I'd got any No7 £3 off vouchers to use as I should go and check their new polishes. I think at this point the woman behind waiting to be served must have gotten fed up as she leaned over and gave me one she had, I think she wanted rid of me!
Over at the No7 stand I found Paradise Love, which reminds me very much of Deborah Lippman's Mermaid's Dream (again I don't have the original to compare) and paid £3ish for it.
Here's a bottle picture, swatches will be following.

The Order of The Glequins
I haven't worn a-england The Order of the Garter alone in a full mani for months, so grabbed it for a quick "straight, vanilla" mani, however my inner goddess couldn't resist adding to it... A simple row of silver glequins. I was looking for my 2mm square studs which I purchased from the Born Pretty store at the same time as these glequins, but the studs seem to have disappeared :( still glequins are good.

Some stud action!
I really fancied pairing OPI What's With the Catt-itude and China Glaze Tart-y For the Party, but couldn't decide quite how, in the end I opted for this, with some small silver studs.
I tried a different top coat to my normal Seche for this mani, wasn't massively impressed as I saw bubbling. I had picked up Kiko's Gel Top coat in France and been looking forwards to trying it but whilst it dried quickly it came out the bottle with fine strands of polish trailing behind it (like Seche when you are halfway through and need to add Restore) but this was first time the bottle had been opened!

Asking for help.
I normally keep my blog and work entirely separate, I don't mention work on my blog and only a few people at work know I have a blog and about my nail polish addiction, but today I'm putting the two together, for just one post. My earlier flames and leather post made me think of motorbikes with flame designs painted on them, fast cars and route 66. Route 66 in turn relates to something from work...
I work in a call centre, my team leader Denise rides a motorbike and is a big supporter of a number of charities which includes Help for Heroes who help wounded soldiers injured in the current conflicts.
Denise will be going to America very shortly to ride route 66 as part of a "bike tour for the wounded," she has paid to go over there and to hire a specially adapted Harley Davidson motorbike and she will have a soldier who was injured whilst serving on active duty riding pillion with her. The once in a lifetime opportunity for injured soldiers are paid for through by people like Denise raising sponsorship.
I'm posting this in the hope that some of my generous nail polish buddies and fellow polish addicts will consider going without one bottle of nail polish and donating the amount they may have otherwise spent to sponsor Hannah, Denise's pillion rider.
Hannah was injured in a mortar attack in Iraq and lost her leg as a result. Her story can be found here on the ride route 66 website.
Denise is going with her husband Eddie who will also have a soldier riding with him.
If anyone would consider donating a small amount they can visit Denise and Eddie's "Just Giving" page by Virgin Money. Every amount no matter how large or small will help towards this cause.
Thanks for taking the time to read this post.
